Friday 12th April, 10:00 am - 12:30 pm BST
Event Navigation
Dorset Buttons were first made in the South of England over 400 years ago and the industry thrived right up until the onset of the industrial revolution. Find out more about this fascinating heritage craft and how the buttons were made in this workshop with textile designer, Debbie McCann.
Participants are taken through the history of the Dorset button and how it can be used today for embellishment or as a piece of quirky jewellery!
Debbie will demonstrate how to make a simple cross wheel button and then guide the participants in the creation of their own brooch or necklace to be taken home.
All materials and tools will be supplied.
Refreshments included.
The workshop space at the Craft Room is on the first floor, accessed via a short flight of stairs.
